Sweet Water 420 Extra Pale Ale

Recently on a white water rafting trip, in North Carolina I had to visit Ashville’s renowned beer-only store, Bruisin’ Ales. The store features over 800 beers from brewer’s worldwide and have a very nice local brewer section. I decided to pick up something I probably would not find in NY so I went with Sweet Water’s 420 Extra Pale Ale from Atlanta, Georgia.

Mad River Brewing Co. - Steelhead Double IPA

During a vist back to my homeland of Florida this month, I was yearning the hop taste i love, but had a very hard time finding a local bar that seemed to served anything other than wanted down bland commercial brews. Lukily I stumbled upon a new beer and wine store that had a large selection of Craft Brewers.

Dogfish Head Brings back old-school tradition

This summer, the fires have been burning at Dogfish as they will be shipping out a modern update on a ninth-century Finnish style beverage called Sah’tea. The beer was first offered on tap at the Dogfish brewery in May.

Beer Review - Yuengling

It’s starting to get warm here in NY, so I thought I would pick up an old friend, Yuengling. It had been awhile since I’ve had a Yuengling and I believe my taste buds have changed a bit because, I didn’t get the same enjoyable response I have had so many times from this beer.

Beer Review - Blue Point Springfling Ale

Blue Point makes a good beer or two so I’ve heard :) so I decided to give their Springfling Ale a go at these taste buds. I’ve got to say that even though it seems to be a well crafted beer, there’s nothing in particular that really draws me into it.

Beer Review - Harpoon Brown Ale

I’m always a fan of seasonal/session beers. It seems that they allow the brewmasters to get their creative beer juices flowing and this my friends is a good thing! Sure, it’s wonderful have those tried-and-true favorites, but there comes a time to break forth into bolder and tastier lands!

Beer Review - Blue Moon’s Honey Moon

Interestingly enough, it was a honey lager that proved to be my entry beer. We all have that special “one” that opens our eyes to the glory of the great brewhaha. That being said, I have a special place in my heart for beers made with honey.
I really enjoy Blue Moon’s brews, especially [...]

Harpoon IPA

I’ve always been afraid the day would come when I would find a beer so delicious that I would be upset about all the years I had been missing out on it.

Smithwick’s

I settle in with Smithwick’s a couple of times a year and every time I come back to it I always remember just how good it is. It reminds me of a great winter beer. It’s brewed by the Guinness Company, but taste nothing like Guinness.

Budweiser - American Ale

Methinks Anheuser-Busch is attempting to appease its American constituents by not only producing a tastier beer with the Budweiser name attached to it, but also by calling it American Ale.

Amstel Light

I’m big on keeping my “Man-ish” slim figure which is often hard to do as a beer consumer, so light beers are often key when it comes to choice of beer some nights.

Ithaca Beer Co. - Apricot Wheat

I’m a southern boy at heart, but I must admit that one of the advantages of living in the North is all the microbreweries! Thank God they find their way into the grocery stores up here.

Magic Hat #9

When it comes to being magically delicious, Magic Hat #9 is about on par with a late 80s version of David Copperfield. Finding a beer with a unique taste, a good one anyway, is the joy of any real man’s heart.
